Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo attended the inauguration of the Semarang-Demak Toll Road section II on Saturday (25/02/2023).
The inauguration of the Semarang-Demak Toll Road at Sayung Toll Gate, Demak Regency, Central Java was led directly by President Joko Widodo.
Ganjar hopes that the 16.01-kilometer toll road can solve the problem of traffic jams and tidal floods in the Sayung Pantura area.
"Hopefully it will function well because this toll road was built in order to unravel congestion and solve problems related to tidal flooding," Ganjar was quoted as saying. Jatengprov.go.id.
In addition to solving these two problems, Ganjar also hopes that the Semarang-Demak Toll Road can integrate strategic areas such as industry, tourism, and airports.
"The President asked regional governments through governors, regents, mayors, to utilize this toll road by preparing access roads to economic sources," he added.
Ganjar also touched on the issue of land acquisition in the toll road project related to several residents expressing complaints to the president.
"We are happy and grateful because President Jokowi is extraordinary. He met representatives of the community who were not satisfied," the Governor explained.
According to him, President Jokowi has told the public that the issue will be resolved soon.
"Hopefully the community can communicate well," he said.
On the other hand, Jokowi expressed gratitude for the opening of the infrastructure that cost approximately 5.9 trillion rupiah.
"Alhamdulillah, this afternoon, the Semarang-Demak section II Sayung Demak toll road has been completed and is ready to be operated," Jokowi said.
