There will be a new toll road in Sulawesi, work will start at the end of 2021

There is good news for Sulawesi residents, the Makassar New Port (MNP) Toll Road project, South Sulawesi (Sulsel), will be realized in the near future. The plan is that the MNP toll road construction project will begin at the end of 2021.

But the question is, when exactly will land acquisition and ground breaking for this toll road? Related to this, Deputy I of the Presidential Staff, PT Pelindo IV, Provincial Secretary (Sekprov) of South Sulawesi, Regional Head of BPN ATR South Sulawesi Region, South Sulawesi Police, Makassar City Government and other parties held a special meeting.

During this meeting, the MNP Toll Road ground breaking target was determined, which will be carried out on December 30, 2021.

Febry Calvin, Deputy I of the Presidential Chief of Staff, said that the budget for land acquisition affected by the toll road project is ready.

So, at least on December 28 or December 30, 2021 it can be done ground breaking.

"We leave everything to PT Pelindo IV to make presentations (regarding ground breaking MNP toll road)," Febry said, as quoted from Tribun-east.com.

Meanwhile, the representative of PT Pelindo IV, Arwin said that his company has provided a budget for land acquisition through Bank Mandiri.

The funds in the bank will be disbursed to compensation recipients as soon as possible.

"We have targeted ground breaking on December 30, 2021. We agreed on that in this forum. We have also coordinated with Bank Mandiri, it remains to coordinate with the community," said Arwin.

Then, Head of Regional Office of BPN ATR South Sulawesi Region, Bambang Priono added that land acquisition for the MNP toll road will be completed in a fairly short time.

"The work will be very fast, related to land acquisition. The target payment of compensation money will be made on December 15-16, 2021. Now we are just waiting for money from PT Pelindo IV," he explained.

Then, the Provincial Secretary of South Sulawesi, Abdul Hayat Gani, revealed that there were no obstacles during the land acquisition process affected by this toll road.

"I think there are no obstacles at all. In fact, we are one day ahead of timeline determined," he concluded.
