Planning to bounce back, Suzuki has apparently prepared 8 new electric bikes consisting of matic and sport models.
As quoted from GridOto.com, This seems to be in line with the Japanese manufacturer's plans, following its departure from MotoGP racing this year.
Previously, Suzuki had revealed to the public that they wanted to focus on researching new products, especially in the vehicle electrification sector.
The manufacturer targets to have at least 25% of electric vehicle (BEV) products and 75% of combustion engine (ICE) vehicle products.
The presence of this electric motorcycle is made to support Suzuki's plan to achieve the mission of carbon neutrality in the Japanese and European markets by 2030.
Globally, the two-wheeler segment is expected to achieve this mission by 2070.
For the initial stage, Suzuki will gradually launch a total of 8 new electric motors from 2024 to 2030 to the market.
Suzuki's total funding allocation until 2030 is 4.5 trillion yen, almost half of which, or 2 trillion yen, is for electric vehicle development.
Well for the development and production process itself, the information will be centered in India, Suzuki's largest two-wheeled market today.
In addition, another reason why Japan or Indonesia is not the base is because of the lower cost factor in these countries.
The model of the electric motorcycle that will be launched is not yet known, but it is likely to be based on a product that is currently in circulation.
An example is the Suzuki e-Ready scooter, a retro-style electric motorcycle that is only available in the Taiwan market.
Powered by the equivalent of 10.1 dk @ 3,000 rpm with a maximum torque of 25.4 Nm @ 2,500 rpm, it is marketed at a price equivalent to Rp 32 million.
Judging from the silhouette of the illustrated image, it seems that the new motorcycle is an EV version of the Gixxer 250 and Access 125.
Well for the Suzuki Burgman EV matic motorcycle, the patent was previously leaked, just wait for the realization of the product.
