This week, Polda Metro Jaya will again hold a street race aka Street Race on Jalan Benyamin Sueb, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.
This racing event coincided with the one-year anniversary of Street Race, which was held over three days from January 27 to 29, 2023.
As quoted from GridOto.com, Metro Jaya Police Chief, Fadil Imran, said that the fifth Street Race was held by involving the entire automotive ecosystem.
"In 2023, the efforts of Polda Metro Jaya and related stakeholders are to facilitate street races by finding permanent facilities for drag racing events in Jakarta," Fadil said in his written statement, Wednesday (01/25/2023).
Fadil continued, "By holding the Street Race, it is hoped that it will encourage the growth of the automotive industry and give birth to new talents who are ready to pave at the national and international levels."
"Not just temporal activities. The hope is that all ecosystem supporters consisting of racers, mechanics, crews or teams to MSMEs, can grow and develop independently," he said.
On this one-year anniversary, the main event will be presented in the form of drag bikes 500 meters that uses sensor devices at the start and finish.
This event will also feature lifestyle activities for bikers such as a modification contest, freestyle showThe event will include a show festival, music festival, automotive bazaar, and automotive and food SMEs.
This time, the classes that will be presented in the Street Race include Mio, 4 Stroke Duck, Matic, e-bike, 2 Stroke Ninja, RX King, Moge, Sunmori or SMR.
As for the modification contest, there will be several competition categories ranging from fashion standard, racing look, drag style, airbrush and original restoration, with a registration fee of IDR 100,000 per class.
