It's official, Repsol Honda team rider Pol Espargaro managed to lead the time record of the first day of the Mandalika MotoGP test, on Friday (11/2/2022).
Pol Espargaro, who managed to clock 1 minute 32.466 seconds, managed to beat the record for the fastest WorldSBK time set by Toprak Razgatlioglu in November 2021.
Second place went to the Spaniard's older brother, Aleix Espargaro, who races for the Aprilia Racing team.
Aleix Espargaro was more than 0.4 seconds behind followed by Brad Binder, Alex Rins and Fabio Quartararo in the top five.
The first day of the 2022 MotoGP pre-season test at the Mandalika Circuit, it can be said that it was not productive enough for all teams and riders.
The performance of the drivers competing at the Mandalika Circuit was not optimal due to the dirty track conditions due to dust, then the pile of dust became mud because of the rain.
As you can see from the start of the session, many of the bikes looked very dirty after being used to ride around the 4.31km circuit.
The riders also found it difficult to maximize their times on the dirty and muddy track.
The red flag was then raised to stop the session, after several crashes due to track conditions.

Also, in the first session of the pre-season test at the Mandalika Circuit, a slight dispute occurred between Aleix Espargaro and Jack Miller.
It started when Aleix Espargaro braked suddenly, and Miller who was behind almost hit him.
Miller was annoyed that Pol Espargaro's brother made a dangerous maneuver as if brake testing on the track.
"He suddenly pressed the brakes in the last two corners and I almost hit him," Miller said in annoyance, reported by Motosan.es.
The Ducati rider was angry and tried to chase Aleix but didn't get the response he wanted.
"Then I caught up with him and rode my bike in front of him, but he pretended not to know anything," added the Australian.
"You know him, Aleix is Aleix, he is arrogant," explained the Ducati rider.
