PPKM Extended, Roadblocks Replaced with Odd-Even Traffic

Did you know? The police, especially Polda Metro Jaya, has just changed the blocking policy to odd-even (gage).) during the implementation of PPKM Level 4 in Jakarta.

The odd-even application is valid from Thursday (12/8/2021) to Monday (16/8/2021). Gage is implemented by considering effectiveness. Traffic Director of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Sambodo Purnomo Yogo said that this gage only applies to four-wheeled vehicles.

"In addition, this policy applies only to 4 wheels and above. So for two wheels it does not apply," said Kombes Pol Sambodo in Jakarta, Tuesday (11/8/2021).

Sambodo said the implementation of the odd-even system is based on the Decree of the Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency. This policy is expected to make it easier for officers to monitor public mobility. "One of the reasons why we do this is to increase effectiveness in terms of mobility control. By using this odd-even system, members can easily monitor that only those who pass are in accordance with the date on which they carry out mobility," he said.

"If it is an odd date, the license plate must be odd and vice versa," he continued.

The following is a list of road sections that implement the odd-even system:

1. Sudirman Street
2. M.H. Thamrin Street
3. Jalan Merdeka Barat
4. Majapahit Street
5. Jalan Gajah Mada
6. Hayam Wuruk Street
7. Jalan Pintu Besar Selatan
8. Gatot Subroto Road
