Progressive Vehicle Tax to be Abolished

The government plans to remove the progressive tax.

The reason for this is that the taxation of the second, third and subsequent vehicles is considered not to provide benefits for the implementation of the tax. single data.

Director of Registration and Identification (Dirregident) of the Korlantas Polri, Brig. Gen. Pol. Yusri Yunus mentioned the difficulties of single data due to reluctance in maintaining vehicle data.

"Progressive tax makes taxpayers want their vehicle to be in their own name or in the name of a family because of the obligation to pay more," he said.

In fact, the suitability of vehicle ownership data according to Brigadier General Yusri is very important.

He gave an example of electronic ticket data that did not reach violators because the vehicle data had been sold and the owner was reluctant to change the name.

"That's why we expect progressive, just eliminate it so that it is valid," said Brigadier General Yusri Yunus.

He added, with single data Valid data from Dispenda, Jasa Raharja, and the police will facilitate the process of vehicle identification, including in the case of traffic accidents.

"This is what we expected. That's why we remind you not to use bleaching, it's not a good thing," he said.

Another thing is the reduction of the transfer fee (BBN).

According to the Chief of the Traffic Police, Inspector General Firman Shantyabudi, the BBN tax is considered not fair for some local governments (Pemda).

The reason is that many vehicles operate outside of the area concerned.

"There will be many new vehicles coming from outside the city. fair Yes, they operate in an area but pay elsewhere," said Inspector General Firman.

Therefore, Inspector General Firman will reduce the burden of reversal of vehicle registration fees (BBNKB II) and the elimination of progressive tax will ease the burden on the community.

That way, the problem of data discrepancies is immediately resolved properly if the community is truly aware of paying taxes.
