The Central Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Unit conducted Operation Keselamatan Jaya 2023 for 14 days, from February 7 to 20, 2023.
The Traffic Unit of the Central Jakarta Metro Police started this activity by giving directions to personnel led by the Deputy Head of the Traffic Unit of the Central Jakarta Metro Police AKP Linda at the Tugu Tani Roundabout, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (8/2/2023) morning.
A total of 25 personnel were deployed to provide education to motorists.
He explained that the implementation of this operation will prioritize sympathetic, persuasive and humanist actions.
"So we have started carrying out the Jaya Safety operation which has started from February 7-20, 2023, the target of this operation is that we will provide education about traffic order in maintaining safety," said AKP Linda as quoted from the Jakarta Post. GridOto.com.
Regarding the timing of Operation Keselamatan Jaya, Linda said it would be carried out situationally based on the situation in the field.
There are several locations of concern including Patung Tani, Senen, Jembatan Merah and Gunung Sahari.
According to him, in accordance with the mandate of the Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Muhammad Fadil Imran, one of the main causes of traffic accidents is due to low awareness, especially in cases of traffic violations committed by motorists.human error).
In this activity, the police also provided education by distributing brochures containing safety and types of violations.
"This operation targets riders who do not wear helmets, ride three abreast, are under the influence of alcohol, against the flow, do not wear license plates and use seat bealt," he said.
Not only brochures, the Central Jakarta Metro Police also distributed some basic necessities to Bajaj and online motorcycle taxi drivers.
According to Linda, the distribution of groceries aims to ease their burden while earning a living on the road.
"In this operation we also distributed brochures about Operation Keselamatan Jaya and some basic necessities to people who are seen as underprivileged such as Bajaj riders and online motorcycle taxis, hopefully it will be useful," he said.
After that, from Tugu Tani we moved to other points, one of which was at Jembatan Merah, which is known to have a lot of traffic violators.
Interestingly, the enforcement through the mobile E-TLE owned by the Central Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Unit has a system and way of working that is not much different from the static E-TLE camera.
The patrol vehicle commonly used is the Isuzu D-Max.
Police officers will also go around a number of protocol roads that do not yet have static E-TLE cameras.
The E-TLE Mobile device that has been equipped with AI (Artificial Intelligence) equipment began to detect violations.
Through the camera in E-TLE Mobile, traffic violators are clearly visible in the car cabin with touch screen mode.
Then the violator data will be archived in the back office.
This Isuzu D-Max can travel at speeds of 5-40 km/h.
Because it is equipped with AI, E-TLE Mobile can capture violators who do not use helmets, seat belts, use cellphones while driving, against the flow of traffic signs, 3-ringed bonceng, to even odd.
For this reason, Linda hopes that with the implementation of Operation Keselamatan Jaya 2023, public awareness can be higher and still prioritize traffic safety so that it is hoped that the number of accidents and congestion can be minimized, especially in the Central Jakarta area.
