The Traffic Directorate (Ditlantas) of Polda Metro Jaya held Operation Zebra Jaya 2021 starting yesterday, the 15th, until November 24, 2021.
Thousands of personnel have been deployed for the operation.
"The personnel involved are approximately 3,070 personnel," said Kasubdit Gakkum Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya, AKBP Argo Wiyono as reported by Gridoto.com, Monday (11/15/2021).
In this operation, thousands of joint personnel from the TNI, Polri, Transportation Department, and Satpol PP DKI Jakarta were deployed to curb traffic violations.
However, Transportation Issues Observer, Budiyanto, asked members of the Traffic Division of Polda Metro Jaya not to forget to install signs or signs marking the start of Operation Zebra Jaya 2021 at the points of operation.
The signs should be installed about 100 meters from the operation point.
The installation of signs aims to provide instructions to drivers regarding Operation Zebra Jaya so that they reduce the speed of the vehicle.
"There must be signs for inspection. Don't let there be a sudden inspection, but there are no signs of inspection," Budiyanto said in Jakarta, Tuesday (11/16/2021).
In its implementation, the man who is also the former Head of Sub-Directorate of Gakkum Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya (Ret) AKBP Budiyanto added, the police must also prioritize persuasive and humanist actions.
"On law enforcement against violations that become the target of Operations (TO) by not ruling out preemptive and preventive activities," he explained.
The Traffic Directorate of Metro Jaya Police held Operation Zebra Jaya for two weeks from November 15-28. A total of more than 3,000 police personnel were deployed in Operation Zebra Jaya.
1. Health protocol violators
Operation Zebra still focuses on enforcing public health protocols, considering that Indonesia is still in a Covid-19 pandemic situation.
Meanwhile, the implementation of level 1 restrictions on community activities (PPKM) is also still ongoing.
2. Use of rotators and sirens
The second offense that the police focus on is the use of rotators and sirens out of place.
The reason is that these violations are still commonly found, even though these actions are against the rules.
3. TNKB and STNK enforcement
Operation Zebra Jaya 2021 also targets vehicles that use Motorized Vehicle Number Signs (TNKB) that do not match the STNK and plate numbers.
4. Odd-even violations
Odd-even violations and violations that have the potential to cause accidents are also included in the targets of Operation Zebra Jaya 2021.
Hopefully, with this information you will all be more orderly in driving on the highway. Always obey road signs and markings, drive carefully, and always follow health protocols.
