Motorcycle Community, MTRI, Removes Stigma Related to Motorcycle Gangs

One of the motorcycle communities in Central Java, Master of Torque Riders Indonesia (MTRI), Semarang, has a unique way to erase the negative stigma of motorcycle gangs.

The community of motorcycle hits in Semarang is always doing fun and exciting activities.

Al Abrar Pratomo, a member of MTRI Semarang, said that his motorcycle community is indeed unique compared to others.

"We are a relaxed motorcycle community, especially in member acceptance," Abrar said as quoted from GenPI.co, Friday (1/4).

Abrar said that in his community there is no seniority or training for new members.

He explained that the requirement to enter the community is to have a driver's license.

Regarding routine activities, Abrar said that his community often goes touring with the aim of finding unique and typical food.

"Because most of us like to eat, we like to exchange good culinary recommendations," she added.

According to him, members often do sunmori while hunting for good food.

"I traveled to Salatiga, Yogyakarta, and Solo just to eat," he said.

Apart from hunting for food, Abrar said the community has other routine activities.

Abrar said that once a week there must be gathering to strengthen the relationship.

"Every Friday night there is a kopdar. Usually after the meeting, we hang out and have coffee," he said.

He hopes that the positive activities carried out by his community will gradually ease the negative stigma of motorcycle gangs that has been attached.

According to him, motorcycle gangs do not always have to be reckless and noisy, but there are many positive things that motorcycle gang members can do.
