Motorcycles Should Pay ERP Too

The DKI Jakarta government plans to implement paid roads or ERP this year.

Motorcycles are among the modes that will be charged when traveling on Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) lanes.

This was confirmed by the Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) Syafrin Liputo.

Syafrin mentioned the rule about motorcycles also having to pay ERP.

As quoted from GridOto.com, According to him, the policy has been included in the Regional Regulation Plan (Raperda) on Electronic Traffic Control (PL2SE).

"In our proposal, in the proposal, two wheels," Syafrin said.

In the Raperda PL2SE, ERP will apply every day from 05.00 WIB to 22.00 WIB.

Based on the Raperda PL2SE, the ERP system will be implemented on 25 roads in the capital city.

Vehicles must be equipped with an Electronic Vehicle Identity Device that is placed on the vehicle.

With this device, passing motorists will be charged a road usage fee.

In its proposal, Dishub DKI Jakarta set a figure ranging from Rp 5,000 to Rp 19,000.

What if the driver does not have a vehicle identification device and passes through the ERP lane, the government will impose a high penalty, which is 10 times the highest tariff.

If we refer to the proposal submitted by the Transportation Office, motorists will be fined Rp 190,000.
