At the F1 event at the Silverstone Circuit yesterday, Lewis Hamilton, the home driver, managed to reach the podium and cut the points difference from Max Verstappen. However, behind his success there was a lot of drama presented and colored the number one caste of this car race.
The 2021 British F1 race opens with crash Max Verstappen on the first lap. While competing closely with Lewis Hamilton, a hard collision caused Max's car to spin.
Verstappen's car suffered suspension damage and ended up hitting the track's parapet quite hard. Verstappen had to exit the race early, red flag flags and the race was stopped for the evacuation of his RB16B car.
Luckily, there was nothing to worry about from Verstappen and the driver was able to leave Coventry Hospital later that evening. "Out of hospital after all good checks," Max tweeted.
"Thank you to everyone for all the kind messages and best wishes," said the Dutch racer.
"Thankfully I'm fine. But very upset to be hit like that. The penalty that was given did not help us and was not fair for a dangerous move by Lewis on the track," said the number 33 driver.
"Seeing (Hamilton's) celebration like that while still in the hospital is a disrespect and an unsportsmanlike attitude but we will move on," said Verstappen.
This crash made Verstappen's points tally close to Hamilton's in the championship.
Now Hamilton is only 8 points behind and this crash really hurt Verstappen.
