Mandalika Circuit Project Still in Big Debt

It was recently revealed that the Mandalika Circuit construction project in Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara still has a debt of 4.6 trillion rupiah.

As quoted from GridOto.com, According to the President Director of tourism SOE holding company InJourney, Dony Oskaria, the debt was divided into two terms when discussed in a meeting with Commission VI of the House of Representatives on Wednesday (14/6/2023).

"When we took over Mandalika, they had short-term debt of Rp 1.2 trillion. While long termIts (long-term debt) amounted to Rp 3.4 trillion," said Dony.

Dony said that his party could not pay off its obligations. short term which is used for some of the infrastructure development of the Mandalika Circuit.

"The short-term debt of Rp 1.2 trillion is used for the construction of grand standVIP Village, and working capital requirements during the event event," he said.

Therefore, Dony proposed a State Capital Injection (PMN) of IDR 1.05 trillion for ITDC, as a way to settle the short-term debt.

In addition to proposing PMN to the government, Dony also explained several strategies to resolve the long term liabilities of Rp 3.4 trillion.

One of them tried to remove the WSBK calendar in Mandalika.

"Actually, the biggest loss is actually from WSBK, not from MotoGP. Because MotoGP can cover operational costs," he explained.

To eliminate the WSBK Mandalika series, his party will try to negotiate, so that later there will be no cost expenditure for the event.

"This WSBK event doesn't attract the crowd and it doesn't attract the sponsorshipThis has resulted in losses of up to Rp 100 billion," he explained.
