A chain reaction accident between a Toyota Avanza, Honda Mobilio, and Isuzu Elf occurred in Yogyakarta on Friday (27/01/2023).
The incident, which allegedly involved five vehicles, was triggered by a cat crossing North Ringroad Road, Yogyakarta Special Region.
Sleman Police Gakkum Unit, Iptu Catur Bowo Laksono, said it all started when the frontmost car avoided a cat.
"Five passing vehicles hit each other because the front braked," Chess was quoted as saying. TribunJogja.com.
The accident caught the attention of the public and other road users on the North Ringroad, Manggung, Caturtunggal, Depok, Sleman Regency.
A number of vehicles involved in the successive accidents were evacuated and secured to Bulaksumur Police Station, Sleman.
Luckily, there were no casualties in the chain-reaction accident involving five vehicles.
"There were no fatalities or injuries, only the vehicles involved were damaged in several parts," he said.
On the other hand, Purnomo, an eyewitness, said that the chain reaction accident involved six vehicles.
"About six cars, but the front ones left immediately after checking the condition of the car," Purnomo said.
Knowing that there was a successive accident, one of the ojol who passed by immediately reported the incident to the police.
However, when the police arrived at the scene, there were only five vehicles.
Of the six cars involved, Purnomo said the Avanza suffered the most damage.
"What was badly damaged was the Avanza, then in front of it there was a pickup and a box car too," he said.
