Don't just use white license plates!

Recently, many vehicles have started using white license plates on the road. Unfortunately, most of these white license plates are fake. Drivers who recklessly use vehicles with white license plates on the road will be ticketed by the police.

As quoted from GridOto.comSo far, the number plates with the new colors have not been implemented because they still have to wait for the jukrah from the Korlantas Polri.

This was conveyed by the Traffic Director of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Sambodo Purnomo Yogo.

Sambodo explained that he would crack down on drivers using white plates.

"The program (license plate color change) has not yet started. So for motorists who have used white plates, they can even be subject to enforcement (ticketing)," Sambodo said, Tuesday (6/21/2022).

He explained that the implementation of white license plates is still waiting for implementing instructions from the Korlantas Polri which will later refer to the Police Regulation.

The rule in question is Police Regulation Number 7 of 2021 concerning motorized vehicles.

This regulation was published on May 5, 2021, but the white license plate program has not been implemented so far.

Previously, the Director of Registration and Identification (Dirregident) of the Korlantas Polri Brigadier General Yusri Yunus urged the public not to buy white license plates with black lettering, considering that this policy has not yet been implemented.

Indeed, these white license plates can be found for sale both online and offline.

"The public is urged to be patient, don't buy online, there are rules that must go through the police, what is sold online does not match the specs," said Yusri when met by GridOto.com recently.

This offense is included in the offense regulated in Law Number 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation, Article 280:

Every person who drives a Motor Vehicle on the Road that is not fitted with a Motor Vehicle Number Mark assigned by the Indonesian National Police as referred to in Article 68 paragraph (1) shall be punished with a maximum imprisonment of 2 (two) months or a maximum fine of Rp500,000.00 (five hundred thousand rupiah).
