This is the reason behind the price increase of Pertamax Turbo, Dexlite, and Pertamina Dex

Pertamina through PT Pertamina Patra Niaga officially raised the prices of three of its fuel products, namely Pertamax Turbo, Dexlite, and Pertamina Dex, on Saturday (12/2/2022).

The amount of price increase for each product ranges from IDR 1,500 to IDR 2,650 per liter, depending on each region or province.

For the DKI Jakarta area, Pertamax Turbo fuel is now priced at IDR 13,500 per liter, Dexlite IDR 12,150 per liter and Pertamina Dex IDR 13,200 per liter.

According to Pjs. Corporate Secretary of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Irto Ginting, the price increase was carried out to adjust to the conditions of the world oil and gas industry.

"It was noted that the ICP oil price as of January reached 85 USD per barrel, an increase of around 17 percent from the ICP price as of December 2021," Irto explained as reported by GridOto.com, Saturday (12/2/2022).

He emphasized that despite the price adjustment, Pertamax Turbo and Dex series are still the cheapest compared to competitors.

"The price of Pertamax Turbo and Dex Series is still the most competitive when compared to products of equivalent quality. This price adjustment is also in accordance with the regulation of Kepmen 62/K/12/MEM/2020 concerning the price formulation of general fuel types (JBU)," added Irto.

Irto also emphasized that other types of non-subsidized fuel such as Pertamax and Pertalite have not experienced price adjustments to date.

Previously, in early February 2022, private fuel providers had also increased their products.

 For example, Shell increased the price of their fuel products by 950-1,280 rupiah in Indonesia.

Although the increase is smaller, Shell's current fuel price is still higher than Pertamina's.
