After approximately 2 years the drift championship event disappeared from the circulation of Indonesian motorsport, finally, this Saturday, June 17, 2021 the drift championship event will be held at J99Maxx Drift Circuit with the title IDS (Indonesia Drift Series) and IDL (Indonesia Drift League). The event, which was organized by Juragan99XAR with support from IMI, until yesterday Friday there were 28 Rookie and Pro participants who had registered themselves.
At this event there will be 2 things that are different from the usual events, the first is that this event will not provide a place and also not allow spectators to come directly to the location. This is related to the increasingly rampant covid-19, so the event will only be broadcast via Youtube streaming J99XAR and Outbrake.id
The IDS will be included in the National Championship series, which has also been dormant for a long time. It is planned that there will be 3 rounds of IDS which will be combined with the National Championship. The participants are Pro and Rookie drifters who have previously registered in the IMI Center list. Today starting at 8 am the QTT session has started and will be continued to the Battle Tandem session. For IDS, it is said that the system used is a bracket system.
For IDL, where all Pro drifters will compete randomly according to the lottery and each drifter will definitely meet like a soccer match (league system). We think this kind of competition system will make drifting more exciting and longer. for the rookine class the plan will still use the bracket system. The IDL event itself is called a series of club event tournaments held outside the National Championship series.
The names of famous Pro drifters who will participate in both events are Ziko Harnadi, Dipo Dwiki, Alinka Hardianti, and Akbar Rais. But the plan is that Akbar Rais will not participate in the IDS National Championship and only follow the IDL. The HTJRT team from Yogyakarta was also present with representatives consisting of Thomi Baraqbah, Alden Adyabaswara, Higa Diwya, Noor Sasangka (Inung), Tyo Afif and M. Mashadi who will compete in the Rookie class.
The judges were also respected drifters such as Danny Ferdito, Dean Zen and Dika CH.
Hopefully, driting in Indonesia will continue to rise and become more exciting.
