Ferrari and Mercedes Officially Launch Cars for F1 2022

The Scuderia Ferrari team officially launched the new F1-75 car that will be used in F1 2022, Thursday (19/2/2022).

The choice of the name F1-75 as Ferrari's new car is arguably quite odd, because it does not use numbers or sequential codes like other teams.

Strange but not surprising, because every year Ferrari always uses car names that have their own philosophies.

The 75 of the F1-75 commemorates the 75th anniversary of Ferrari's first production car.

The first car in question was the Ferrari 125 S that came out of the factory in March 1947.

Uniquely, spoiler The front and rear of the F1-75 are black, matching the Ferrari racing suit and team apparel.

Then there is the 75 writing logo on the fin of the F1-75 shark.

In terms of shape, there are some differences from the concept car exhibited by F1.

For example, in the suspension part, then in the sidepod whose pits are wider than the concept car.

The design of the nose also looks slimmer and sharper, and the shape of the airbox-It's also different.

From some statement Ferrari's top brass and drivers seem very confident in F1 2022.

With the new car regulations of F1 2022 different from before, Ferrari has a great opportunity to return to the title fight with F1-75.

Even as other manufacturers struggled, Ferrari was quick to solve the problem of switching fuel from E5 to the more environmentally friendly E10.

The duo of young drivers Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc who performed consistently last season will be an advantage for Ferrari.

A day after Ferrari, the Mercedes team finally showed off its new car that will be used in F1 2022 on Friday (2/18/2022).

The car is called the Mercedes W13, the successor to the W12 used by the Brackley-based team last season.

Unlike W11 and W12 who use livery In black, this Mercedes W13 returns to its signature Silver Arrows.

From the side, the silver color looks dominant at the top, while there is black at the bottom.

Amidst the silver and black is the signature green color of sponsor Petronas, which is also visible on the front and rear spoilers.

As before, sponsor Ineos' red color is also still visible on the W13's airbox.

In terms of shape, there are some differences compared to the concept car seen last season.

The shape of the W13 is quite striking on the sidepod.

Firstly the shape is very sleek and simple, quite unlike some teams that seem to exploit this part in their car development.

It can also be seen that the sidepods have very sharp curves, unlike the cars of other teams that have been exhibited.

Still on the sidepods, there are no visible gill-like holes that have been applied to many other teams' new cars.

It could be that Mercedes is still keeping it a secret and will only show its original form during the official test or the upcoming 2022 F1 race.

It's only natural that other teams would do the same so that the original form is not easily visible from this launch.

Lewis Hamilton will still be the main pillar of this team, but now with a new partner in George Russell who has gained a lot of experience with the Williams team.
