Fantastic, there's a 2-stroke engine that passes Euro 5!

Recently, a manufacturer has successfully worked on a 2-stroke engine with the latest technology. In fact, it is so sophisticated that the 2-stroke engine can pass Euro 5 emission standards.

You need to know that in general, the fate of the 2-stroke engine is not yet finished because manufacturers are still producing for motorcycles. offroad.

Because 2-stroke engines tend to be smelly, smoky, noisy, and produce high emissions, the use of 2-stroke engines has been discontinued for road bikes.

Although its fate is considered to be over, it turns out that there are still manufacturers who are researching 2-stroke engines so that they still meet the current regulations.

The manufacturer that managed to release this advanced engine is Motori Minarelli, an Italian engine manufacturer known as Yamaha's partner for engine research and development.

As quoted from GridOto.com, The cornerstone of this advanced machine is a 2-stroke engine taken from the Yamaha YZ250 dirt bike, which was also made by Minarelli and produced from 2002 to 2020.

After increasing the cubication to 300 cc, this 2-stroke engine was miraculously able to pass the Euro 5 emission standard, which is relatively strict even for 4-stroke engines.

One of the formulas is of course by adopting an injection system, as KTM has implemented in its dirt bike products.

Just like its engine base and motorcycle designation, the new engine will be initially installed on the Fantic XE 300 dirt bike.

The rumor is that this advanced engine will be launched in 2023 in the European market, the difference is that the motorcycle with the Minarelli engine may also be able to ride on the highway.

It is not yet known exactly why the emissions are low, but one of them is believed to be thanks to the special technology in the engine block.

One of them is thanks to the special valve in the hole exhaustwhich also serves as a decompression system for the electric starter feature.

Characteristically, the feature also helps to make the engine smoother and has linear torque so that it is also suitable for driving on the highway.

In addition, the motorcycle engine becomes easier to restart if it dies while riding.

Apart from having advanced electronic features, the exhaust sector is also specially designed to eliminate the typical 2-stroke sound that is known to be noisy.

Having been showcased during the 2022 EICMA event, it is definitely good news for 2-stroke motorcycle lovers.
