Electronic Tolling Officially Applies in Several Toll Roads, Don't Drive Illegally!

Since last Friday, electronic traffic law enforcement (ETLE) aka electronic ticketing has officially taken effect on a number of toll roads.

You should know that this electronic ticket targets two violations committed by toll road users, namely violations of the maximum speed limit and overloading violations.

This second type of violation targets heavy vehicles that have excess dimensions and loads or are overloaded. over dimension over load (ODOL).

When it was officially enforced, it was found that 19 violators were caught exceeding the maximum speed limit on April 1, 2022.

Head of the Sub-directorate of Development and Law Enforcement of the Traffic Police of Metro Jaya, AKBP Jamal Alam, said that the 19 cars were known to be traveling at speeds above 100 Km / hour.

According to Article 287 paragraph 5 of Law Number 22 Year 2009 on Road Traffic and Transportation (LLAJ), the speed limit on toll roads is at least 60 Km/hour and at most 100 Km/hour.

"So any driver who violates this rule can be sentenced to imprisonment for 2 months or pay a maximum fine of Rp 500 thousand," said Jamal, quoted from the report. Kompas.com, (03/04/2022).

He continued, for violations of the load limit or ODOL, it is regulated in Article 307 of Law Number 22 of 2009 concerning LLAJ.

The regulation states that every person who drives public transportation of goods that does not comply with the provisions of loading procedures, carrying capacity and vehicle dimensions will be subject to two choices of sanctions.

"The sanction can be imprisonment for a maximum of 2 months or a maximum fine of Rp 500,000," added Jamal.

For information, ETLE cameras equipped with speed guns for speed limit violations have been installed on five toll roads.
