Don't just open or close the motor oil drain bolt

When you want to dispose of the old engine oil, you would have done so through the drain bolt located under the motorcycle.

This engine oil drain bolt turns out to be treated properly and should not be originated when tightening.

There are repercussions if the oil drain bolt is over-tightened.

As quoted from GridOto.comTriyono from Family Auto Service (FAS) workshop explains that over-tightening the oil drain bolt is also not good.

"The drat in the oil drain crankcase if it gets stuck can be dangerous," he explains.

If the engine oil drain bolt is not tight, it can come loose on the road.

Likewise, the oil drain bolt can easily become loose and unusable.

Likewise, the gasket is damaged if the oil drain bolt is over-tightened.

Excessive bolt pressure can make the gasket drain plug so it's broken.

"Usually there will be oil seepage from around the bolts," explained Triyono whose workshop is in Bintara, Bekasi.

The correct way to tighten the oil drain bolt is to use a torque wrench.

"A properly sized torque wrench will make the thread life longer," he explains.

So you can't just tighten the oil drain bolt.

Don't forget to replace drain plug gasket if it is damaged.
