Danilo Petrucci Officially Signed for Suzuki Ecstar

There's exciting news from the world of MotoGP. For the first time, former MotoGP rider Danilo Petrucci has appeared in the Suzuki Ecstar team jersey for the 2022 Thailand MotoGP this weekend.

Danilo Petrucci, who has left MotoGP at the end of the 2021 season, has been called up to help the Suzuki Ecstar team.

As quoted from GridOto.com, Danilo Petrucci replaces the injured Joan Mir for this weekend's Thai MotoGP 2022 and partners Alex Rins.

The Italian rider, nicknamed Petrux, just completed his debut season in the MotoAmerica Superbike Championship and finished second in the final standings.

During his career in MotoGP, from 2012 to 2021, Petrux has won twice, namely in Italy 2019 and France 2020 with the factory Ducati team.

His best achievement was sixth place in the final standings in 2019.

Now Danilo Petrucci is trusted to help the Suzuki Ecstar team race at Chang International Circuit, Buriram at the 17th round of the 2022 Thailand MotoGP.

In a team statement, Danilo Petrucci admitted that he has known the Suzuki crew for a long time and has a great relationship.

Suzuki Ecstar team boss Livio Suppo promised his team would do their best to make it a memorable weekend for Petrux.

Alex Rins welcomes Danilo Petrucci back to MotoGP racing.

Petrux will begin his first action as a Suzuki Ecstar team rider at the 2022 Thailand MotoGP practice session on Friday (30/9).

The Suzuki Ecstar team also unveiled Danilo Petrucci's first appearance on Thursday (29/9) in the blue jersey, as well as the Suzuki GSX-RR bike with the number #9.
