Old Mode
For your information, this mode of sprinkling oil and sulfur turned out to have happened in October 2019.
However, the incident was shared via Facebook on behalf of Roy Whae.
"In the middle of the journey, precisely in front of PLN Cisarua, there was a pungent charred smell from inside the engine. Thick smoke came out like a car about to burn. I think the clutch pirodo (lining) was burnt. Finally, we stopped to check the engine, opened the hood and the smoke billowed like a fire," he said.
Initially, the car driver admitted that he panicked about what happened to him. But not long after, he immediately remembered the modus operandi that was common in the Puncak area.
"It was a mess, just driving, the clutch lining was damaged, even though I brought a young Innova. But in my heart, I already feel that the Puncak - Cisarua road likes to have a gang of fake workshops that like to spray used oil into the brake disc on the front tire, and I don't know what the mixture is, the car can be like a fire." He added.
Sure enough not long after, he was approached by several people who used the wearpack or Toyota uniforms are ready with workshop tools.
"There was no wind, no rain, no one invited me, and I just came and started the car engine and said, 'The clutch is burnt, sir.' I just ignored it and didn't respond. After being ignored, I was finally embarrassed, then left by myself,"
He also added "For friends, be careful and recognize this gang so you don't get tricked if you drive to Puncak - Ciloto to Cisarua. This gang operates a lot there, the modus operandi is to spray used oil on the brakes with a mixture of sulfur so that there is a lot of smoke."
Roy also warns not to respond to the fake mechanic because he will mess up the engine, making it look like the car is damaged.
