
Chairman of the Indonesian Motor Association (IMI) Bambang "Bamsoet" Soesatyo invites the automotive community to help the government in its efforts to restore the nation's economy, one of which is through activities in the tourism sector.
"To restore the national economy requires mutual cooperation from all children of the nation, including the Harley Davidson Club Indonesia (HDCI). One of them is through touring activities," Bamsoet said in a press release received in Jakarta on Sunday.
Bamsoet, who is also the Speaker of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR), said the automotive community could help the central government in promoting various tourism destinations, one of which was through tourism activities. touring, that can help accelerate the economic recovery of communities that have been devastated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The COVID-19 pandemic has taught us that traveling within the country is now preferred over traveling abroad. By traveling within the country, he said, it can help drive the economy of regional communities.
IMI in the written statement also highlighted one of the homework for big motorcycle clubs is that there is still a negative view or stigma of society towards their existence.
Big motorcyclists are considered arrogant and reckless when driving on the road. According to Bamsoet, this stigma still exists in the community.
In fact, he said, the arrogant attitude was only the work of a handful of large motorcyclists.
"Therefore, there must be awareness from every member of the community that the actions and behavior of individuals, members will easily be seen and perceived as community behavior so that a cautious attitude is needed from all community members," said Bamsoet.
Bamsoet also appreciated the election of Deputy Chairman of Commission III DPR RI Ahmad Sahroni as Chairman of HDCI for the period 2023-2028, based on the HDCI Extraordinary National Deliberation in Bali on January 27-28, 2023.
He hopes that the club will become more solid and bigger under the leadership of Ahmad Sahroni, who according to Bamsoet is also experienced in the automotive field.
