Bus rolled over and crossed Madiun road

There was a traffic jam on one of the Madiun to Surabaya roads. A Sugeng Rahayu bus rolled over and ended up across the middle of the road.

This incident occurred on Jalan Raya Madiun-Surabaya, Jerukgulung Village, Balerejo Subdistrict, Madiun Regency, Tuesday (5/31/2022).

The body of the Sugeng Rahayu bus caused traffic congestion on the national road.

As quoted from Surya.co.idKanit Gakkum Satlantas Polres Madiun, Ipda Roni Susanto said the bus was carrying 34 passengers.

In addition, the bus also carried 3 crew members, namely the driver, kernet and conductor.

"While there are 19 passengers being treated at Caruban Hospital," he said.

"All of them suffered minor injuries, no serious injuries including the bus crew," added Ipda Roni.

The Sugeng Rahayu bus that rolled over had the license plate number W 7216 UZ, driven by Suwarto (55).

The incident began when the bus tried to overtake another Sugeng Rahayu Bus, Wonogiri-Solo-Surabaya, license plate W 7183 UY.

"After preceding another bus, there was a truck in front of him (traveling in the same direction) so he swerved to the left," said Ipda Roni.

There was a motorcyclist on the road, so the bus swerved to the right and rolled over.

Currently, the three bus crews have been secured by the Madiun Police Traffic Unit for further investigation.

"The bus itself suffered a lot of damage to the left side of the body. In addition, the front, back and left side glass were also broken," he concluded.

Hopefully the bus drivers will no longer act recklessly while driving so that this kind of accident does not happen again.
