To serve the mobility of the delegates and participants of the G20 Summit in Bali, 41 units of electric buses have been prepared by the Indonesian government.
Of the dozens of electric bus units, 30 of them are Red and White electric buses (BLMP) made in Indonesia.
As quoted from GridOto.com, After the Bali 2022 G20 Summit is over, dozens of electric buses will not be left in the garage.
The problem is that the Indonesian government has further plans, related to the utilization of electric buses after being operated during the G20 Summit in Bali.
Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi explained that dozens of electric buses will be converted into public transportation in Bandung, Surabaya, and Bali.
"Operated through the buy the service (BTS) program from the Ministry of Transportation, in collaboration with DAMRI," Budi said as quoted from Dephub.go.id, Friday (11/11/2022).
Budi also explained that the level of local components used by BLMP is more than 50 percent.
This electric bus is also the result of collaboration between the Ministry of Transportation, Kemenristek Dikti, INKA and a number of universities in Indonesia.
"This is the result of our struggle, and we are proud of it during the G20 moment," Budi added.
Budi said he was very proud of what all related parties had done, in providing electric buses and launching the G20 Bali 2022 Summit.
Even if there are practices and their application is not maximized, the government needs to learn and improve its quality.
"Because President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said we must try, God willing, this effort can provide good meaning for the nation," he said.
Please note, as many as 30 units of the Merah Putih electric bus will be operated in the Nusa Dua, Sawangan, Samabe and Bali 2022 G20 Summit venues.
For the operational schedule starting from 06.00 WITA, until 22.00 WITA in the period November 11-17, 2022.
