The government is increasingly aggressively directing the country's automotive trend towards electric vehicles with the aim of reducing exhaust emissions produced by motorized vehicles.
One of the supports from the government is by replacing official operational vehicles with electric cars and motorcycles.
Ida Nuryatin Finahari, Director of Electricity Business Development at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources also explained the roadmap (see below).road map) regarding the need for electric vehicles specifically for government operational vehicles.
"As we know, we cannot be separated from the role of the Ministry of Transportation for this electric vehicle," Ida said as quoted from Gridoto.com, in a seminar at the 2021 Indonesia Electric Motor Show (IEMS), Wednesday (24/11/2021).
"The Ministry of Transportation has issued a simulation related to the need for four-wheeled and two-wheeled electric vehicles from 2021 to 2030 specifically for government operational vehicles," he continued.
Furthermore, Ida revealed the number targeted as operational vehicles that are expected to increase the use of electric vehicles in the country.
"If this is implemented, government offices use these electric vehicles for ASN. For example, in 2021 13,236 four-wheelers and 39,883 two-wheelers are needed until 2030," said Ida.
