Indonesians have a lot of tricks up their sleeves. In order to be able to drive on the road, there are people who fake driver's licenses. For example, recently, the police managed to dismantle the practice of making fake driving licenses (SIM) in Boyolali Regency, Central Java.
A total of three suspects, named Didik Driyanto (44), Poniman (34) and Ngatiman (51) were secured and named as suspects in this fake SIM case.
Head of Public Relations of Boyolali Police, AKP Dalmadi, said that the practice of making fake SIMs was uncovered after the police received a report from a reporter with the initials AK.
"AK's colleague had said that the SIM he got from the gang was a fake SIM," he explained, as quoted from Tribunsolo.com, Friday (06/17/2022).
Regarding the role of each suspect, Dalmadi explained that the mastermind of the crime was Poniman who participated in making the fake driver's license.
Ngatiman then acted as a dealer of the fake driver's license that Poniman had made.
"The victim went to the complainant's house in Bhayangkara Village, Boyolali to ask about the irregularities of his general B2 driver's license made by Ngatiman," he continued.
He added, after checking, it was found that the victim's SIM number was not registered.
The reporter immediately reported his findings to Boyolali Police for further processing.
Unfortunately, the reporter did not know the cost incurred by the victim to make a fake SIM to the suspect.
"From this report, Satreskrim, Sat Intelkam and Satlantas Polres Boyolali immediately conducted an investigation by interrogating witnesses, until the identity of the perpetrator of making fake SIMs was obtained," said Dalmadi.
Dalmadi said that the police managed to secure evidence in the form of 6 fake SIMs, 1 sheet of sandpaper, 1 sheet of white plastic placemat, 1 printer, 3 mobile phones, 1 laptop unit and Rp 700,000 in cash.
Furthermore, the perpetrators were charged with Article 263 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code Jo Article 55 paragraph (1) to 1e of the Criminal Code on Forgery of Letters.
"The three perpetrators are charged with a maximum prison sentence of 6 years," he concluded.
