In daily driving, several components on your car or motorcycle must be considered. One vehicle component that is often taken for granted is tires. As a component that determines comfort and safety, the condition of tires must always be controlled. 1. Pay attention to tire pressure
Tire pressure must be correct, neither excessive nor insufficient. Tire pressure should refer to the vehicle specifications. Usually in two-wheeled motorized vehicles, excessive or insufficient wind pressure will be felt immediately. If the air pressure is excessive, you will not be comfortable when driving on bad roads. However, if the wind pressure is less, you will not be comfortable when you have to maneuver turns on the road.
2. Use Nitrogen or Regular Wind?
Nowadays, nitrogen filling depots for vehicle tires are many and easy to find. For example, at gas stations or some roadside depots, you can find special tire filling with nitrogen. Nitrogen also has more benefits than ordinary wind. Nitrogen is pure air gas that has been filtered and has no water content in it. Unlike ordinary wind, the gas content still has water. Ordinary wind will feel heavier because of the expansion process in the tire. Meanwhile, if filled with nitrogen air, the tire becomes lighter. Another advantage of nitrogen air is that the molecules in nitrogen do not evaporate easily due to heat so that the tire is not easily deflated.
3. Drain the Tire Air First
Before filling the tire with nitrogen, first drain the tire and make sure it is completely empty. Doing this prevents the tire from getting brittle and the wheel components can avoid the risk of corrosion.
4. Never Mix Regular Wind and Nitrogen
If you have filled your tires with nitrogen air, do not mix it with regular air. Regular air contains water particles from the hydrogen element. The inclusion of ordinary wind makes the air space inside the tire wet from condensation. Because of this, there is the potential for car tire wires or motorcycle wheels to rust because they are wet inside. Nitrogen wind mixed with ordinary wind makes the inert elemental nitrogen gas is missing.
